Denver Scott Conley, 80, of Senecaville, died Thursday (November 10, 2022) at his home.
He was born August 15, 1942 in Wheeling WV, son of the late Arch Conley and Laura (Rosenlieb) Conley.
Following graduation from Ellett High School, Denver joined the US Army, serving from 1960 to 1964 where he spent two years in Korea. After his service, he returned home and married Judith Anita (Jackson) on September 4, 1964. In Akron, he opened his first business, Rayco Upholstery, which he owned and operated for several years. Later in his career, he and his son, Steve, owned and operated Pine Oaks Construction. Denver, Steve, and Michele opened the Upholstery Station in 1993.
Denver was a life member of the Buffalo VFW Post 8040 and also a member of the Secrest Senior Center of Senecaville.
He enjoyed woodworking, bear hunting in Maine and Canada, and having a nice cold beer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Anita (Jackson) Conley, who died August 4, 2013; a son, Scott Conley; a sister, Carol Lee; and a brother, Arch.
He is survived by a son, Steve D. (Michele) Conley of Senecaville; six grandchildren, Brandon, Ashley (Jed), Jessica (Matt), Jennifer, Shelby (Alex), and Denver (Lila); and his great-grandchildren, Brayden, Mariella, Alexis, Amara, Logan, Lucas, Livia, Jade, Silas, and Cooper (due in December).
Visitation will be held Tuesday (November 15, 2022) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Tom Matus officiating.
Burial will be at Senecaville Cemetery, with military graveside honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Denver's name to Secrest Senior Center, 201 High Street, Senecaville OH 43780.
