Dera Louise Marshall, known by her family as "Dimple" and "Nana" by her Grandkids, passed away on October 14, 2025, with her loving family by her side. She lived an amazing 100 years and had a beautiful life. She was strong and independent and lived on her own until she became ill.
Louise was born on March 12, 1925, to James and Velma Young in Waxahachie, TX. She was the oldest of five children. She attended school in the Dallas area. She met the love of her life Neal Marshall when they were teenagers and married on April 25, 1942. They had four sons: Wayne, Mike, Rick, and Bobby. They settled and raised them in Dallas, TX. They had one son, Teddy, who was born in the arms of Jesus.
She worked at Pollock Paper and then found her work home with DISD as a dispatcher until she retired. In her spare time, she loved to travel. She traveled to New York, California, Hawaii, and she loved going to Vegas with her friends. She also had a love for dancing; she loved country and western dancing and her turquoise jewelry. She also loved tot read; you could always find a new book to read on her bookshelf. Nana also taught her grandkids to play Spades, and we still think of her and enjoy playing when we are together. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents James and Velma Young, her son Teddy, her husband Neal, her sister Peggy, and brothers Larry and Nathan, and her beloved son Wayne.
Louise is survived by her sons Mike and wife Debbie, Rick and wife Joy, Bobby and his wife Brenda, daughter-in-law Sheliah Marshall, and sister-in-law Hope Martinez. Grandsons: Todd, Keith, Jason, Scotty, Shawn, and Michael. Granddaughters: Kristi, Kim, Melanie, and Lori. Great grandkids: Chris, Ashley, Nick, Shelly, Dakota, Sarah, Cassidy, Erin, Austin, Hudson, Jack, Lauren, Callie, Blake, Tiffany, Brooke, Sam, Caden, Heath, and Landon; and numerous great great grandkids.
