His Legacy Derek Allen Cresson, 66, passed away March 26, 2023. He was born on April 17, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan to Arthur Cresson and Betty (Pierce) Cresson Bugg. Derek married the love of his life, Darlene Sobran on September 5, 1981, in Taylor, Michigan. They were happily married for 41 years. Derek grew up in the small town of Curran, Michigan, where he graduated from Fairview High School. Derek worked for Wilmar Industries for many years before retiring in 2013. His wife Darlene worked there with him as well, and they greatly enjoyed working with one another and going home together at the end of the day. Derek also owned his own business, 4 Star Karaoke, and was considered the "King of Karaoke". Derek was a softball coach and his entire family played. He loved Nascar, and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and woodworker. Derek was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
His Family Derek will be missed by his wife, Darlene Cresson; daughter, Lisa Swan; son, Derek Cresson II; sister, Tamara (Larry) Dellar; grandchildren, Anna, Allison, and Andrew. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Cresson and Betty Bugg; and his brother, Kevin Cresson.
His Farewell Derek's family and friends will gather for a Scripture Service on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 11:00am (10am gathering) at St. Joseph Catholic Village Church, 3430 Dover St. Dexter, MI, 48130. Pastor Brendan Walsh will serve as presider. Memorial contributions are suggested to American Heart Association or St. Joseph Parish, Dexter, Michigan.
