Derek Ash Goins, age 20, of McColl, SC, passed away Monday, September 29, 2025, due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Born on March 26, 2005, in Laurinburg, NC, Derek was the beloved son of Derrick Dwayne Goins and Tracy Coyle Goins. He was a member of Oak Hill Church of God and lived life with a deep love for the outdoors and time spent with family. Derek enjoyed riding four-wheelers, racing, hunting, fishing, working on projects with his dad, and making memories with his brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his loving parents: Derrick Dwayne Goins, and Tracy Coyle Goins (Dennis Scott); brothers: Dwayne "DD" Goins, Isaiah Goins, and Case Jacobs; sisters: Taylor Coyle, Hannah Goins, and Aubrey Jacobs; grandfathers: Jimbo Coyle and Clayton Locklear; grandmothers: Cindy Locklear and Tina Quick; great-grandfather: James Coyle, Jr.; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Derek was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ronald Goins and Debra Ann Britt, and maternal grandmother, Shirley Coyle.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Oak Hill Church of God, officiated by Rev. Brian Oxendine. Burial will follow at Rogers Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 2, 2025, also at Oak Hill Church of God.
