Derek Lamont Pearyer

Derek Lamont Pearyer, 58, of Plainfield, NJ passed unexpectedly on December 6, 2022.
Born on February 15, 1964, to loving parents Joan Carol Simmons and Russell Bullock, Derek immediately filled the lives of those around him with joy and style. Derek graduated from Plainfield High School and went on to pursue his passion, fashion.
Derek was a talented fashion designer and artist. He put everything he had into his designs. He put on multiple successful fashion shows, using his sisters, cousins, and friends as his models. Derek also loved his DIY projects and painting, putting love into every creation.
Derek always wanted to travel around the world, but one place he wanted to visit more than anything was Paris, France, as he loved the Eiffel Tower.
Derek was a cook for over 20 years, most recently at AristaCare at Cedar Oaks. While he complained to his sister, Georgette every day about it, he loved working there and he loved his co-workers.
Derek was a loving Uncle to Jaffray Lamont Clark, Walysia Clark, Senious Warren, Shanté Arceneaux, Nakeema Venson, and Janae Mauro. He was a Great-Uncle to Kamari & Khiyan Clark and Amaya & Kingston Arceneaux. As well as, Godfather to Amber Jenkins. Derek adored his family.
Derek is predeceased by (Mother )Joan Carol Simmon, (Sister) Leta "Dee Dee" James, (Sister) Yvette Pearyer, and (Fur babies) Chaka and Boom Boom. Derek is survived by Sisters, Kecia Pearyer and Allyn Georgette Mauro.
Derek's presence is sorely missed and his loss is deeply felt.
