Penrod-, Derek Duane Penrod Sr, age 46, of Keystone Heights, Florida passed away suddenly on February 18, 2023. Derek was born in San Bernardino, CA on February 20,1976, to the late Robert Penrod and Denis Smith Bonich. Derek was raised in San Bernardino, California and started his entrepreneurial adventures shortly after high school. Derek was filled with so much life, lived to the fullest, he loved all people, never met a stranger he wouldn't talk to, and was the life of the party. His driven personality helped him in many endeavors and his motivational spirit encouraged many throughout the years. Derek had so much wisdom and talent. He found much joy in flipping cars. He served as a Salesman at Beck Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram dealership in Palatka, Florida for a few years and was currently employed at CDJR. of Tampa Bay. He was the proud owner and operator of Muscle Nerds, Elevated Distribution which was his fitness supplement company. Derek was passionate about fitness, loved working out, and challenging himself and others to better their health and bodies. He also enjoyed being outdoors; riding his motorcycle, dirt bikes, side by sides, and four wheelers. For years, He loved his dogs and his children shared the same passion, had made sure that all of his children had one. Derek was an amazing father who devoted his life to taking care of his children. He was certainly one of a kind, showed love to those around him, was known for his shoe collection as every outfit had a matching pair of shoes, his love of smoking weed, and his witty selfless nature. Derek was most passionate about his family, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and cherished making special memories with them. He was preceded in death by his father.
Derek is survived by children; Isaac Penrod of Sacramento, CA, Claryssa Penrod of Sacramento, CA, Desirae Penrod of Sacramento, CA, Aliah Penrod of Sacramento, CA, Ezekiel Penrod of Vermont and Derek Penrod, Jr. of Keystone Heights, FL. Brother; Beau (Yvonne) Smith of San Diego, CA, sister; Crystal Penrod Flory of San Clara, CA. grandchildren; Elijah, Amara and Isiah Dafazio and one on the way. 5 great grandchildren, His life companion, and Fiancé Rosie Nerio. along with numerous extended family members and many friends who were considered family.
A Celebration of Derek's Life will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 5:00pm at Archie Tanner Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are under the care and direction of V.
