Derek Clifton Pratt

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Derek Clifton Pratt on September 29, 2025, at the age of 41. Born on August 10, 1984, Derek was a beloved son, brother, and friend, whose deep love for his family was matched only by the love they had for him. He is survived by his devoted parents, Mary and Byron Pratt; his cherished brother, Dillon Pratt; sister-in-law, Crystal Pratt; along with his adored niece and nephews, Braxton, Axel, and Novah Pratt, who lovingly referred to him as their Uncle Derek.

He is also mourned by his uncle, Robin Wilson Pratt; his wife, Cindy Pratt; and their children, Caitlin, Joanna, and Robert. From Mary's side, he is remembered by his uncle, Paul Gehri; his wife, Deborah Gehri; and their son, Braden Thomas, and daughter-in-law, Kendall Thomas, along with their three children: Natalie, Sailor, and Stormy Thomas. He is also survived by John Gehri; Joyce Gehri; their children, Laura and Sean; cousin Robert Ladner; his wife, Carson; and their children, Braylon and Brylee. Derek also leaves behind his cherished Godmother, Sally Campion, and her children, Nick and Emily, as well as Randy and Chris Burns along with their children, Tyler and Carson.

Growing up in the vibrant community of Boerne, Texas, Derek was known for his infectious laughter, generous spirit, and unwavering support for those around him. His warmth and compassion made a lasting impact on everyone he met, and he will be remembered as a beacon of joy.

During a transformative period in his life, Derek renewed his faith in God during a brief stay in Kendall County Jail, where he participated in Miss Monay's Journey courses. These programs equipped him with the tools he needed to reclaim his life and prepared him to train as a teacher in this God-centered prison ministry. His commitment to serving as a witness, disciple, and teacher not only changed his own life but also inspired others.

An innovative thinker, Derek was involved in groundbreaking projects, including the development of a revolutionary medical device aimed at curing cancer without chemotherapy or radiation, which showed significant promise. He also created a homemade hydrogen cell adaptation for an SUV that achieved an impressive 850 miles per tank, currently pending a patent.

A celebration of Derek's extraordinary life will be held at the First Methodist Church in Boerne, Texas, Saturday, October 25th at one o'clock. The address is 205 James St., Boerne, TX 78006. Family and friends are invited to share their memories and honor the incredible spirit he embodied.

Derek was deeply loved, and his absence will create an immense void in the hearts of his family and friends.
