Boyd and Derek Dwayne Vann Sr.
Derek graduated high school from Turner High School. He also received a degree from
Hutchinson Community College and finally his bachelors at Kansas University.
Derek worked for numerous organizations putting his education to use including Certain Teed
and BPU, and Turner High. Derek was very interested in real estate and in the last several months.
worked for Altar Support.
On Aug 9, 2008, Derek married the love of his life Alicia Vann. They were high school sweethearts!
On December 15 2013, God gave Derek his beloved Twins. He named them Donovan and Daniel, in 2017 God blessed him with a baby boy who Derek affectionately named after himself.
Derek loved his three boys and always spent quality time with them. He enjoyed coaching them in
all sports basketball, football, and baseball. Derek was eventually blessed with his first daughter in
2020, we named her Diana. She is definitely a daddy's girl. Finally, the Lord blessed to give us our
final child in 2022 we named her Diona. Derek felt accomplished having his fabulous five children.
Derek was always known to be able to do anything he puts his mind to. He was a coach, a stellar
athlete and real estate guru.
To cherish his memory, he leaves behind his beloved parents, his Mother Joy, his Father Derek Sr
(Ramona), his brother Kalen, his wife Alicia, his children, Donovan, Daniel, Derek III, Diana, and
Diona. He has also been loved by a great host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Derek was a great human being and a wonderful father, for him the well-being of others was more important than his own well-being.
