Deron Harris Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Caring Cremations - Chicago on Dec. 2, 2025.
Deron Lee Harris, a cherished soul known affectionately to his beloved wife Angel as simply "Honey," was called home on November 11, 2025, while at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital. Born on July 5, 1973, in the bustling city of Chicago, Deron's laughter and love infused the lives of all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of joy and kindness that will be remembered for generations to come.
Deron, a man of faith and humor, walked through life with a smile that could light up the darkest room. His laughter was infectious, and his jokes often left friends and family in stitches. He lived by the words of the great comedian Bob Hope: "I don't feel old. I don't feel anything until noon. Then it's time for my nap." Indeed, Deron embraced life with the same lightheartedness, always finding time for a good nap after a hearty chuckle.
A proud graduate of Steinmetz High School, Deron carried with him not just the knowledge gained within its walls, but also the friendships and memories that would last a lifetime. He was a man of many talents, known around the neighborhood for his culinary skills at Wendy's and his magical touch with cars. Whether flipping burgers or tuning engines, he worked with a joy and dedication that was truly inspiring.
Deron's Christian faith was the cornerstone of his life. He lived his beliefs through acts of kindness, always extending a helping hand or a word of encouragement. His love for God was as evident as his love for the Chicago Bears, and Sunday afternoons were sacred, reserved for worship in the morning and football in the evening.
His interests were simple yet profound. Deron found pleasure in the melodies of music, the thrill of shopping for the perfect find, and the excitement of watching his favorite team play. Each of these activities was made richer by his presence and the warmth he brought into them.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted mother, Hattie Paramore; his loving wife, Angel Harris; his caring sister, Donna Hucherson; and his loyal brother, Maurice Byrd. Each of them held a special place in Deron's heart, and he in theirs. His love for them was as boundless as his capacity for humor, and he expressed it in ways that were uniquely Deron.
Deron's life was a testament to the power of laughter, the strength of faith, and the depth of love. He was loving, kind, and funny-a trifecta of traits that made him the man everyone wanted to be around. As we bid farewell to Deron Lee Harris, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives and the laughter he left in our hearts. He may have departed from this world, but his spirit remains, reminding us to live each day with a smile, a kind word, and perhaps, most importantly, a good joke.
