Derrick Kip Burdeshaw, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed peacefully at his residence in Hawkinsville, Georgia, on December 11, 2025. Born on January 24, 1966, in Hawkinsville, Derrick dedicated his life to the construction industry, where he showcased his skills and commitment while employed at Gilmer Acoustics for many years.
Kip, as he was affectionately known, was a devoted family man who took great joy in spending quality time with his loved ones. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa Burdeshaw, and their two sons, Ben Burdeshaw (Mallory) of Blakely, Georgia, and Ridge Grinstead (Morgan) of Hawkinsville, Georgia. He was deeply proud of his grandchildren: Raegan Burdeshaw, Camden Moore, Ella Grinstead, and Brince Grinstead. Kip also leaves behind his mother, Barbara Ann Burdeshaw and brothers, Steve Burdeshaw and Jeff Burdeshaw (Jenny) all of Warner Robins, Georgia.
In addition to his immediate family, Kip had a special bond with his pet, Mollie, who was a source of companionship in his life. His love for the outdoors was well noted, as he was a true outdoorsman who found solace in nature. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, pursuits that brought him tranquility and fulfillment.
Derrick Kip Burdeshaw was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Burdeshaw, who shaped the man he became. His legacy of hard work, love for family, and respect for the great outdoors will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
