Derrick Lamarr Gordon, age 51, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, under the compassionate care of hospice in Palm Bay, Florida.

Born on December 21, 1973, Derrick graduated from Maryland High School in 1991. He spent many years as a dedicated real estate maintenance supervisor, known for his reliability, integrity, and quiet leadership. His work was more than a job-it was a reflection of the pride he took in everything he did.

Derrick had an abiding love for aquariums and birds, finding peace and joy in the natural world. His home was always filled with life, from the gentle hum of his fish tanks to the cheerful songs of his feathered companions. And through every chapter of life, he was faithfully accompanied by his beloved dog, a symbol of the loyalty and warmth he gave so freely.

He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Lynnette; his daughter Kailynn and son Derrick Jr.; his devoted mother Elaine; and his siblings: twin brother Damond (Deneen), Stephen (Keisha), Kimberly, Anthony (Katie), and Harold.

Derrick also leaves behind several cherished nieces and nephews, and was deeply loved and treasured by all of his in-laws. He was predeceased by his father, Harold.

Derrick will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held on September 6th 2025 at 11am at Centerpointe Church 891 Coply St SE Palm Bay! There will be a service and a light lunch to follow. Friends and loved ones are invited to attend.

Derrick's presence was a gift to all who knew him. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his unwavering love for family, and the quiet strength that defined his life. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touch.
