Derrick Ross Kizer, age 28, a resident of Selden, New York and a former long time resident of Katy, Texas passed away Monday June 22, 2015 in Suffolk County, New York. He was born February 23, 1987 in Kingsville, Texas to Brian Roy Kizer and Karen Elaine Loden Kizer. Derrick was employed for Intelli-Tec, Long Island New York, as a fire alarm inspector. Derrick had a love for music, writing and playing the guitar. He loved his beautiful fiancée Brittany Cubano. He loved his bull dog Hank. Derrick is survived by his parents Brian Roy Kizer and Karen Elaine Loden Kizer of Katy, Texas; three younger siblings, Kimberly Lanae Kizer, Travis Erin Kizer and Sarah Nichole Kizer, all of Katy; grandparents, Ethel May Sweeten Loden of Katy, Texas and Magdalena Niebla Kizer of Kingsville, Texas; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; fiancée Brittany Cubano of Selden, New York; and a host of friends. Visitation took place 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2015 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. The funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Tony Appuglies officiating. Burial followed in Kingsville Resthaven Cemetery. After the burial, Kleberg First National Bank, 100 E. Kleberg Ave. Kingsville, Texas. hosted a reception at the bank's basement, in memory of Derrick. Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd. Kingsville, Texas 78363.

Derrick, I've been thinking about you a lot lately. I miss you so much. It still shocks me that you're no longer here, but I know that you are watching over me. I will never forget you and the memories that we've shared. I love you so much Derrick.
