Derrick Picott

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Derrick DeAndre Picott, who departed this life on February 18, 2026, at the age of 43.

A lifelong resident of Trenton, New Jersey, Derrick was deeply rooted in his family and community. He was the beloved son of the late Darla Picott and the late Lee Lewis.

Derrick was more than a brother, nephew, or cousin - he was a father figure, a protector, and a steady presence. He poured love, guidance, and stability into the lives of his nephews, Dante and Tavon, as well as his niece, Taviona. His impact extended far beyond titles; he showed up for his family in ways that mattered most.

He will be remembered for his warm smile that could light up a room, his generous heart, his loyalty to those he loved, and the quiet strength that he carried. His presence will be deeply missed, but his love will remain woven into the lives of all who knew him.

Preceded in death by his parents, Darla Picott and Lee Lewis; sister, Tynisha Picott, Derrick leaves to cherish precious memories his loving sister, Zena Picott; brothers, Terrill Lewis, DeShawn Wade, and Jameer Lewis; special friend and partner, Samuel "Dex" Epps, whose presence in his life was meaningful and deeply cherished, along with a host of family members who loved him dearly and surrounded him with unwavering support.
