Mrs. Desiree Kirkwood "Mama Love" Love

River Bend – Desiree Kirkwood Love, "Mama Love", 49, died Monday, July 18, 2011 at her home with her family by her side. She had attended Temple Baptist Church. Desiree was co-founder of Knit Happens. She was very involved with community activities and loved helping young people. She will be missed by her family and the many friends who love her very much She is survived by her husband, Doug Love; two sons, Bruce Love of Wilmington and Brad Love of the home; her father Graham Kirkwood of Avon, Ct; two brothers, Alan Kirkwood of Westford, MA and Glenn Kirkwood of Ohio; and one sister, Sarah Gibson of New Caanan, CT. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth I. Kirkwood. There will be a gathering of family and friends at Pollock-Best Funeral Home on Friday, July 22, 2011 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
