Dessel Lanter Obituary
Dessel Marie (Rose) Lanter, age 71 years, of Parkers Lake, Kentucky died Sunday, March 10, 2024 at her home.
She was born in Sawyer, Kentucky on October 7, 1952 the daughter of the late Euel and Joyce Thenal (Thomas) Rose. Dessel had worked at Big John’s and CO-OP and was a member of the New Light Baptist Church. Cross Stitching, cooking, shopping, but most especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her enjoyments in life.
Her parents; a husband, Steven Lanter; daughter, Patricia Lynn Lanter; brothers, Herbert Rose and Cleo Rose; and sisters, Jean Lay and Vicie Bowers precede her in death.
Survivors include her son Shawn Lanter of Winfield, Tennessee; daughters, Stephanie Lanter and Rebecca Cordell both of Winfield, Tennessee; brothers, Levi Rose and Lester Rose both of Parkers Lake, Kentucky; sisters, Barbara Rose and Pearl Goodin both of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, and Marcella Barnes of Alabama; grandchildren, Destiny Lackey, Gavin Lanter, Katelynn Lackey, Kaylee Lalonde, Patricia Miller, and Hunter Cordell; and great grandchildren, Stormy Lackey, Bryson Lackey, Venture Lanter, and Lynnde Lanter.
Funeral services will be held 2pm Thursday, March 14, 2024 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Leamon Perkins officiating. The family will receive friends after 12pm Thursday at the Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.
