Destiny Rumley

Destiny Sarah Rumley was born on December 10, 2004 at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT to Phoenix Dingle (Rumley) and James Rumley. Destiny entered into eternal rest and gained her wings on December 30, 2025. She started her early education in the North Branford School system and then graduated from Wilbur Cross High School in 2022. Destiny attended Living Water Citadel of Hamden, CT under Overseer Jeanetta Beasley, where she gave her life to Christ at a young age.

During her childhood years, Destiny loved participating in church events, taking pictures that would last a lifetime and having sleepovers with her cousins. She mastered the art of braiding hair and showcasing her sense of style with her family, friends and of course on her self. She loved cooking and once she learned a new recipe you would often hear her saying

"taste this sis, yup good right." Destiny had a special way of bringing people together, whether at cookouts, parties or little get-togethers. Her heart was full of love for family and friends, and her beautiful smile and infectious laughter could light up any room. Many of her friendships began in childhood and continued throughout her young life. With her, friends became family with every memory, laugh and heart-to-heart conversation cherished.

Her caring and loving spirit flowed into her early career, leading her to become a sales associate at Walmart & Bowlero in Wallingford, amongst numerous other employments.

Destiny's greatest blessing was when she gave birth to her son, Ezekiel. The playfulness in her voice would echo through the front door as she called his name "Chujuupapi " He was her pride and joy, the center of her world. She was incredibly proud watching him grow. Her love for him was endless, unconditional, and knew no bounds. Her memory will live on through the laughter she inspired, the love she shared and the many hearts she touched along the way.

Destiny leaves to cherish her memory, her mother and father Phoenix Rumley, James Rumley, Son Ezekiel Rivera, three brothers, Anthony Dingle (CT), Tyrese Dingle (CT), James Rumley Jr. (Tanya, WY), two sisters Donyail Dingle (CT, Jamesha Rumley (CT) nine nephews and nieces, a host of uncles and aunts, a host of great aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.

She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Dorothy Dingle and Wilbert Raye, maternal great-grandmother Irene Lamar, paternal grandparent Rosie Rumley and her nephew Terrence Little Jr
