Devin Gene Blint, 62, of Danville, died Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born on June 5, 1963, in Burlington, he was the son of Dale and Shirley (Hale) Blint. On July 30, 1988, at Harmony Bible Church, he married Traci L. Johnson.
Devin was a 1981 graduate of New London High School and was involved in football, wrestling, and baseball. He attended Southeastern Community College and graduated from Western Illinois University with a bachelor's degree in recreation administration.
He worked for Young House Family Services and then for Iowa Works for 20 years, where he served as a Promise Jobs Advisor. Devin was a member of Harmony Bible Church in Danville, where he served as a team leader of security. Along with possessing great leadership skills, he was also a devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
While his children were in school, he volunteered for the Danville Recreational Association. In his free time, he enjoyed deer and duck hunting with his son, brother-in-law, and nephews. He was a family man who loved nothing more than being with his family, especially his grandchildren, who called him "Pops." Sitting on the floor to play and wrestle, or going for lawnmower rides, were a few of his favorite things to do with them. His favorite holiday was Christmas.
Devin played on a fast-pitch softball team with his brother, Duane; together, they made it to nationals back in the '90s. He enjoyed watching baseball and football, especially the Minnesota Vikings.
Above all else, Devin was a selfless man. He worked hard at his job and loved helping on the family farm. He would do anything for anyone, even doing the grocery shopping at Walmart.
He is survived by his wife, Traci of Danville; three children, Brody (Morgan) Blint of Burlington, Shelby Blint of Danville, and Jaden (Colton) Scott of Burlington; three grandchildren, Easton Scott, Bridger Scott, and Marek Blint; siblings, Duane (Pam) Blint of New London, and Darcie Ann Avila of Phoenix, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law, Vicki Johnson.
The funeral service for Devin will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 14, at Harmony Bible Church in Danville. Burial will follow in Jaggar Cemetery, Danville.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, March 13, at Lunning Chapel in Burlington.
