Devin Marcel Mack, born on January 23, 1985, in Norfolk, Virginia, passed away on May 27, 2025, at I U Hospital. Devin was a beloved son, brother, and friend, remembered for his hearty, contagious laugh and the joy he brought to those around him.
Devin was known for his unique ability to make anyone smile. His infectious laughter often made it difficult for him to finish his favorite stories, as he would burst into laughter mid-tale. Those who knew him well can attest to his playful teasing and his love for wordplay; according to his best friend, conversations with Devin sometimes required a dictionary to keep up with his witty banter.
An avid lover of nature, Devin had an impressive knowledge of animals, mammals, and insects that he shared with enthusiasm. His love for learning was evident from a young age, as he had a habit of reading the encyclopedia before bed. This fascination with the natural world was matched only by his passion for community service as a dedicated member of his faith.
Devin was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on November 16, 2002, and served as a regular pioneer for one year following his graduation in 2003. His commitment to his beliefs and community was a proud accomplishment that he carried with him throughout his life.
Despite suffering from a chronic illness, which the family hoped would have a long recovery, Devin's condition unexpectedly worsened. His passing is a profound loss to all who knew him, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
Devin is survived by his father, Richard K. Mack; mother, T. Lynette Green-Mack; sister, Michale McGee(Arreale Davis) ; brother, Richard P. Mack (A’iesha, Aaniah,Roman); and spiritual brother, Raphael Kpotufe (Jamie); Uncle: Paul Green, Aunts : Marva (John ) Wilson, Karen Hasting ( Tarina and Dejuan). He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Leota Green; grandfather, Edward P. Mack; grandmother, Mildred Mack; uncles Edward Mack and Bently J. Green; and aunts Alona Green, Angela Hithe, and Emma Mack.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Devin’s life by attending the memorial service on June 8, 2025, at 5:00 PM, ending at 6:00 PM.
Devin Marcel Mack’s memory will be cherished , as those who knew him remember his warmth, his laughter, and his unwavering kindness.
