DeWayne Curothers Cage Jr.

DeWayne Curothers Cage Jr, 54, transitioned peacefully on December 16th, 2025 surrounded by his family and loved ones in Cleveland, Ohio. The legacy he leaves behind are his two greatest accomplishments, his daughters- Gabrielle (Gyasi) and Joselyn. His incredibly loving and supportive parents- Beverly and George Sr., as well as his father DeWayne Sr. His brothers George Jr. (Wendy) and Robert, and his sister Shavone. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, many aunts and uncles, his cousins, and close friends. He was born on June 14th, 1971 in Wayne County, Michigan to Beverly and DeWayne Sr. before moving to Cleveland, Ohio in 1983. DeWayne lived his life with an incredible amount of strength, courage, and perseverance. His ambition and perspective he always credited to the strength God gave him, and his faith was always something he sought to deepen and grow. Throughout his life he worked as a cook, a corrections officer, a truck driver, a masseuse, and also ran several successful car rental businesses with his former wife and friend, Cathy and his mom, Beverly. A home going celebration will be held at Kozij- Lazuta Funeral home located at 5677 State Rd, Parma, OH, 44134 on Tuesday December 23, 2025 at 12 pm.
