Kozij-Lazuta Funeral HomeVelma Lee Meadows, 86, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas.
Born in Seth, West Virginia, to Edgar C. Walker and Opal Walker (both deceased), Velma carried the strength, faith, and quiet resilience of her Appalachian upbringing throughout her life. She built her world around family, and those she loved never doubted how deeply they were cared for.
Velma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Meadows, and her brother, Junior Walker. We find comfort in knowing she is now reunited with those she loved so dearly.
She leaves behind her devoted daughter, Michele Chebib and husband George Chebib; and her treasured grandchildren, Anthony Chebib and Adriana Chebib. Being “Mom” and “Grandma” was the role she cherished most. Her love was steady, unconditional, and constant — a true anchor for her family.
Velma was soft-spoken and gentle in spirit, yet strong in her devotion to those she loved. She had a special gift in the kitchen and was known as a wonderful cook, nourishing her family not only with her meals but with the warmth and care she poured into everything she made. Some of the most cherished memories were gathered around her table.
Velma will be remembered for her gentle strength, her enduring devotion, and the quiet way she made those around her feel safe and loved. Her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured and the values she instilled.
Funeral services will be held on March 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Kozij-Lazuta Funeral Home, 5677 State Road, Parma, Ohio 44134. Interment Brooklyn Heights Cemetery
