Kozij-Lazuta Funeral HomeErnst Alfons Loffelmann, age 81, of Parma, Ohio, passed away on February 10, 2026. Born in Vienna, Austria, he was the son of the late Ernst Franz Fritz Loffelmann and Hedwig Dosek. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Ava (Loffelmann) Richtberg and Erika (Loffelmann) Boschi.
Ernst grew up in Austria, where he and his family embraced an active, outdoor lifestyle—sledding, skiing, ice skating, and hiking. His love of sports and the outdoors remained constant throughout his life. One of his greatest joys was traveling to cheer on his granddaughters, Avery and Kenna, at their dance, soccer, and basketball events.
He earned his engineering degree from Breganz Technical College in Austria and later completed a diploma from Damelin Management Business School through the South African Institute of Management on November 25, 1981. His career and adventurous spirit took him to many places, including Holland and South Africa, before he immigrated to the United States. Despite his travels, he returned to Austria every summer to visit his beloved “hut,” a place that remained close to his heart.
Ernst and his wife, Brenda (Gapas) Loffelmann, shared 25 wonderful years together and traveled extensively both in the U.S. and abroad. He was the father of Gerardus J. Loffelmann and Claudia Ulrika Loffelmann; father in law to Thomas Tomcik and Paula Coffman; and proud “Grosspapa” to Avery and Kenna Tomcik.
He was also the cherished uncle of Silvia Boschi (deceased) and Walter Boschi(deceased), great uncle to Charlotte Boschis LaBonne, Julian Boschis, and Guillame Boschis, and great great uncle to Victoria and Angeline LaBonne. Ernst was a loving “dad” to his fur babies, Max and Jack, who brought him daily joy and mischief.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Ernst’s life on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with a light supper to follow, at Kozij Lazuta Funeral Home, 5677 State Road, Parma, Ohio 44134.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX
