DeWayne Kent Sr.

DeWayne Kent, Sr; 55, of Vineland, was called home unexpectedly, December 23, 2025. DeWayne, known to his family as "Wayne" and his childhood friends as "EazyD," was born August 28,1970 in Cape May Courthouse, NJ at Cooper University Cape Regional Hospital to Linwood Kent, Sr. and Lana Kent (Turner). DeWayne received his education at Millville Senior High School, class of 1989. DeWayne was employed at the Pallet Factory in Woodbine, NJ for 10 years and Woodbine Developmental Center as a Cottage Training Supervisor for 23 years.
DeWayne was the life of the party, any room he walked in lit up like the shining star he was. As soon as he walked in with his favorite saying, " What's up cuz;" you knew you were about to laugh 'til you cried with positive vibes and much love. Always dressed fresh and on point for any occasion. He loved music, dancing, watching action movies (in his voice) " Shoot 'em up bang bang," watching his EAGLES play; and spending time with his love Christy and his family. DeWayne had a heart of gold and such a contagious soul. His presents would brighten any room. Words alone is not enough to describe how loving and genuine he was and how many lives he touched along the way. His absence will be greatly felt each and every moment and his presence will be greatly missed everyday, but will never ever be forgotten.
DeWayne leaves to cherish his memory; his mother, Lana Kent (Turner); his father, Linwood Kent, Sr.; three brothers, Linwood Kent, Jr. (Millville, NJ), George (Stephanie) Kent, Sr. (Millville, NJ), Shannon (Michelle) Gaines (Charlotte, NC), one sister, Kimberly Kent (Millville, NJ); two sons, DeWayne (Stephanie) Kent, Jr. (Vineland, NJ), DeAndre Kent (Blackwood, NJ), one extended son, Benny Baldwin ( Millville, NJ), one daughter, Trinity Kent (Millville, NJ) and one extended daughter, Jazmen Baldwin (Vineland, NJ); two grandchildren, Zyon and Za'ryah; the love of his life, Christy Johnson (Vineland, NJ) and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces and cousins. DeWayne was preceded in death by; his brother, Corey Gaines (Fayetteville, NC).

Funeral services will be held at the Resurrection Church of God in Christ, 1210 Main St., Port Norris on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 11 AM. Friends will be received at the church from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the service. Interment will take place at Steelmantown Cemetery in Woodbine following the service.
