Dewey Dowling Bellows was called home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 20, 2024.
Dewey was born in Three Rivers, Texas on December 18, 1932, to Richard Douglas and Alice Dewey Bellows. He married the love of his life, Delores M. Franke, on May 30, 1953, in Pawnee and expressed his love for and appreciation of her always. His family dominated the topic of conversation when he spoke, he loved them fiercely. Many of the stories he told were of trips with his family and Easter fishing trips with the boys. He cherished the memories of coaching his son’s baseball teams. Dewey worked in the oil field for 67 years and achieved many accolades for his precise attention to detail and great work ethic. He was telling these stories until the day he passed.
Dewey lived a full life and kept his spirited sense of humor until the very end. Many will remember his joyful robust laugh that is truly unforgettable. He was a man of God with a servant’s heart and always willing to help others. We have peace and comfort in knowing when he closed his eyes in death, he was welcomed into the arms of his Lord.
Dewey was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Alice Bellows; his brothers, Clyde Bellows, Richard Bellows, Royce “Rusty” Bellows, John Gilbert “J.G.” Bellows, Dudley Bellows and Ruben Bellows; and one sister, Mary Chloe Crisp.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Delores Bellows; four sons, Gary (Deborah) Bellows, Terry (Nancy) Bellows, Dewey (Lori) Bellows II and Dennis (Katrina) Bellows; and a sister, Ruth Blaschke. He is also blessed with eight grandchildren, Ryan (Julie), Morgan (Chris), Teddy (Kristy), Dewey III, Timmy (Siera), Taylor, Shelby and Quentin (Jaye); as well as eight great-grandchildren, Ainsley, Easton, Southern, Briggs, Hudson, Wyatt, Stanton and Austin.
