Dewey Holmes Obituary
He was born in Neptune Township and had resided in Marlboro Township before moving to Howell.
Dewey served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Japan, Hawaii, and Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska.
Dewey was a plans writer for the Fort Monmouth Provost Marshal Office for 20 years before his retirement. Prior to that, he was a sheriff's officer in the Sarby County Sheriff's Office in Nebraska.
He was a member of the Old Brick Reformed Church, Marlboro Township and a former member of Olive Branch Lodge No. 16, F. & A.M., Freehold. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry 'Dewey" Holmes and Marie Miles Holmes; and a brother-in-law, William F. Hogan, Jr. Surviving are a sister, Laura Hogan; two cousins, William Noll and Patricia Noll Burke; and many second cousins.
A memorial service will be held at the Old Brick Reformed Church at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Old Brick Reformed Church, PO Box 153, Marlboro, NJ 07746 would be appreciated. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
