Dewey "Butch" Nestor

Dewey "Butch" Allen Nestor of Fairmont (Mt. Harmony Community) passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born July 16, 1943, in Fairmont, Marion County to the late Clarence Nestor and Lucille C. Nestor. He was employed at Owens Illinois and Consolidation Coal Company (Loveridge Mine) as a coal miner. A devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather. He attended Mount Harmony Community Church. He loved traveling to Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Maryland where he loved to explore yard sales, car shows and flea markets. Survived by his four daughters and three sons-in-law, Tammy and Phillip Westrick, Sr. of Fairmont; Sherry and Dennis Nurkiewicz, Jr., of Fairmont; Robin Bailey of Fairmont; and Kelli and Michael Harris of Enterprise; six granddaughters Tara and Steven Harman of Fort Meade, MD; Stacy and Michael Nelson of California; Schyler House of Raleigh, NC; Brittany Bailey of Clarksburg; Courtney Davis (Michael Workman) of Grafton and Kacey and C.J. Osborne of Shinnston; nine great grandchildren, Hailey, Lillian, Landon, Sadie, Nadalin, Kash, Braelynn, Kaisley and Hadley; one brother-in-law, Edward Loeffelbein; four sisters-in-law, Judy Nestor, Carolyn Nestor Light, Betty Stubenbordt and Catherine McGill and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dewey was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol June Nestor, a son-in-law, Larry Bailey and nine brothers and sisters. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Deweys memory to the charity that he faithfully supported, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Family and friends can gather at Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, on Tuesday January 28th from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and then Wednesday January 29th from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am. Brandon Ludwick will be officiating the service and a burial at the Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Mt. Harmony will follow.
