Deacon Dewitt Jones was born on January 25, 1953 in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina to Ocillor and Ethel Jones. He transitioned to his heavenly home on December 9, 2024.
Dewitt was educated in the Orange County School System. He attended Washington Shores Elementary and graduated from Jones High School in `1970. He married Dorothy McFadden on June 20, 1987. They raised one son, James McFadden and a loving niece, Brittany McFadden. He was a long time member of Harvest Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Glendy Hamilton. He later joined Emmanuel Fellowship & Worship Center, where he served faithfully until he was physically unable to attend. He was ordain a Deacon on November 21, 2021 and was also a member of the Men's Choir.
Dewitt worked as a self-employed cabinet maker, where he was respected for his dedication and hard work. He approached every task with diligence and integrity, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of working with him.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother Ocillor & Ethel Jones, his older sister Diana Jones.
Dewitt leaves to celebrate his home going and cherish his memories: his beloved wife of 38 years, Deaconess Dorothy Jones; son: James McFadden, grandsons: Devyn & Brendin McFadden, devoted niece: Brittany McFadden, cousin Donald Hawkins (Cora) and a host of sorrowing family and friends.

When my husband was in the hospital, Bro. Jones and Dorothy came to visit him. He said he didn't like seeing Barry the way he was. The compassion he showed.
