Dewitt Wright Obituary
He was born October 28, 1932, in Glenwood, GA to the late George Dudley Wright and the late Nettie Mae Anderson Wright. He was a retired engineman, Petty Officer First Class in the United States Navy, retired Navy recruiter, for many years was the ROTC director at Valdosta High School and member of Glory Church. He was preceded in death by his wife: Colleen Burns Wright who died in 2019; brother: George Duncan Wright; grandson: Caleb Wright.
He is survived by his daughter: Lisa (Terry) Crane of TyTy; 2 sons: Dewitt (Kathi) Wright, Jr of Valdosta and Malcolm (Vicki) Wright of Hahira; 5 grandchildren: Bryson Crane, Grant (Haley) Crane, Jared (Taylor) Wright, Aubrey Wright and Jillian (Jacob) Crum; 5 great grandchildren: Caroline Elizabeth Crane, Callahan Haddon Crane, Grayson Dewitt Wright, Easton Walker Wright and Scarlett Ann Wright.
A family gathering and interment will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 11 AM in the Tarrytown cemetery. Visitation is in the cemetery thirty minutes prior to the service.
