Dexter Bradley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Neal Funeral Home on May 17, 2024.
Dexter Dwane Bradley "Dex"
1965-2024
"There are special people in our lives that never leave, even after they're gone."
Dexter "Dex" Dwane Bradley, age 58, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed gently away on May 15, 2024, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family with fond memories of them on his mind.
Dexter, affectionately known as "Dex", was born on November 1, 1965. He was the blessing of the late Marvin Lester and Deborah Gayle Erwin Bradley. Dexter was a 1983 graduate of West Carter High School and made his living as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic before retiring in 2019. Dexter had a knack for working on cars and he particularly loved antique ones. He was proud to still own the 1978 Ford F150 that was given to him from his father when he first began to drive. If there ever was a car guy it would have been Dexter. He spent many evenings at car shows hanging out with his friends and countless hours in the garage tinkering on motors. Dexter had a sweet soul, and he was a wonderful father and the best Poppy to his grandbabies. Dexter was the most loyal and dependable person his family knew. He was tough and through his strength he defied odds in his battle with Cancer. He was an honest, kind, and selfless man, who gave all of himself to those he loved. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Dexter leaves behind his only son Corey Bradley and his wife Alice of Ashland, Kentucky, two precious grandchildren Sophie Rose and Phoebe Love, one brother William "Bill" Bradley and his wife Alice of Olive Hill, KY, and two sisters Laura Michelle Bradley of Olive Hill, KY and Rebecca Runyon and her husband Tom also of Olive Hill, KY. Also surviving is Dexter's girlfriend Katrina Dunaway, who stood by his side the last four years through his illness, many extended family members, and friends.
A Graveside service to honor the life of Dexter Bradley will be held on Sunday May 19, 2024, beginning at 2pm at Bradley Cemetery in Olive Hill. Pastor Clifford "Tippy" Price will officiate the service and offer words of comfort. Visitation for friends and family will be held at Neal Funeral Home located at 2409 Center Street, Catlettsburg, prior to the service from 11am to 1pm. Craig Brown, Doug Brown, William Bradley, Bradford Bradley, Tom Runyon, Josh Runyon will act as pallbearers, along with Ronnie Samper, Jeffrey Robinson, Joseph Robinson, and Gerald Haney acting as honorary pallbearers.
Online condolences may be sent to the family from our website at kilgorecollierfuneralhome.com or on Facebook at Neal-Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home.

Dexter was one of the sweetest souls ever put on this earth. He was like a second son to me and brother to my own son, John. We always looked forward to seeing him at our car shows and anywhere else we happened to meet. He would go out of his way to help in any way possible to those who needed help. He will be greatly missed by me, my son and the Carter County Cruisers, and a slew of people who knew him.
