Deyonda Renea (Reeves) Dodds, age 53, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, in Kaufman, Texas.
She was born on September 1, 1971, in Lufkin, Texas, the beloved daughter of Mattie Ila Tullis and Billy Ray Reeves. Renea carried with her the strength, compassion, and love passed down from her parents and shared those gifts generously with her family and friends throughout her life.
Renea was a devoted mother, proud NayNay, loving sister, cherished aunt, and loyal friend. Her warmth, laughter, unwavering love and dedication to her family and friends will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
Renea spent many years working at Walmart in Kaufman, where she became more than just a familiar face—she was a friend to many and a steady presence in the lives of coworkers and customers alike.
Her best friend, Traci, stood by her through thick and thin. Whether they were working side by side, taking spur-of-the-moment casino trips, or enjoying lunch dates filled with laughter, theirs was the kind of friendship people hope to find.
Her true joy, though, was her family—especially her grandkids, who knew her lovingly as “NayNay.” She took great pride in loving and spoiling them. Her happiest moments were spent surrounded by their energy, stories, and hugs.
She also shared her heart with her dog, Snowflake, who was a source of comfort, love, and loyalty.
Renea lived with love, gave freely of her heart, and built a life full of meaningful relationships. Her memory will live on in the people she touched and the family she cherished.
She is survived by her daughter, Ashley (husband Justin), and their children, Paisley and Kaine; her son, Jason (wife Emily), their son Blake, and a new grandchild expected soon. She shared her children with her former husband, Thomas Henry Dodds, who remains a part of their family story.
She is also survived by her brother, Ronnie Reeves. She leaves behind her beloved nieces and nephews: Heather, Nikki, Chevon, Floyd, Rachel, Amber, Samuel, Sarah, and Noah; as well as her great-nieces and great-nephews: Camren, Brayton, Kaydence, Max, Nevaeh, Carly, Amelia, Cameron, Kennedy, Stella, and Emerson—each of whom held a special place in her heart.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Mattie Ila Tullis; her father, Billy Ray Reeves; and her brother, Donnie Reeves.
May they rest in peace together.
