Diana Bassininsky, a devoted homemaker and a spirited soul who embraced life to the fullest, passed away peacefully in Jackson, TN, on October 25, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on March 20, 1955, in Dyersburg, TN, Diana was known for her feisty personality and her fierce protectiveness of her family, qualities that endeared her to all who knew her.
Diana's most cherished accomplishments in life were her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her loving daughter, Melissa Hurt (Clay), and her son, Ronnie Robertson, whose lives were profoundly shaped by her nurturing spirit. Diana was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren: Jessica, Libby, Harleigh, Kolie Jalynne, Brayden, Clayton, and Isabella, as well as eight great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy.
A high school graduate with some college attendance, Diana poured her love into her family and found pleasure in everyday moments. She had an adventurous side, often seen riding her beloved Harley Davidson motorcycles, a passion that reflected her vibrant spirit and zest for life.
Diana was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Lynn Godwin; her mother, Shirlon Loretta Terry McMurry; her husband, Kenneth Bassininsky; and two sisters, Vicki White and Jeannie Hunter. Their memories will forever be cherished as she reunites with them, sharing laughter and love in the embrace of eternity.
Diana's legacy continues through her brother, Ronnie Godwin, her niece, Bridget Burns, and her special friend, Jeff Coker, who stood by her side through life's journeys.
A graveside service will be held on October 28, 2025, at Bellevernon Cemetery in Friendship, TN, starting at 11:00 AM.
