Diana Baxter

Diana (Anzaldi) Baxter, of Whitman, formerly of Hyde Park, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 10, 1944, to the late Andrew and Carmella (Correnti) Anzaldi, Diana's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and heritage.
After graduating from Hyde Park High School, Diana later married and moved to Holbrook where she devoted herself to raising her family.
Diana was the beloved wife of James Burton of Whitman and the late John J. Baxter, Jr. She was the loving mother to her sons, Mark Baxter and his fiancé Kristin Maguire of Braintree, and Stephen Baxter and his wife Susan of Abington, and her late son, John J. Baxter, III.
Diana's role as a sister was filled with endless memories, shared with her sisters Josephine Whiffen of Holbrook and Fannie Evangelista of Abington. Her love extended to her role as "Mammy," a title she held with pride and joy for her grandchildren Nicholas, Ryan, Kate, and Matthew, each of them a sparkle in her eye.
Diana was proud of her Italian heritage, and some of her happiest moments were times spent with her sisters and cousins, gathering for lunch and spending time together.
Above all, Diana loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, as well as her extended Italian family. Her home was often filled with the sounds of laughter, the aroma of delicious food, and the sense of togetherness that she fostered with grace and generosity.
Her spirit will forever be cherished and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation period on Friday, January 16th, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM in the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Holbrook.
