Diana Ramirez Dye, age 76, of Midland, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on October 31, 2025.
Born on October 29, 1949, in San Angelo, Texas, Diana was the beloved daughter of Jesus and Anita (Camarillo) Ramirez. She devoted her life to her family and to her craft, working as a seamstress and touching countless lives with her warmth, creativity, and unwavering love. Whenever people talked about Diana, they would always mention her big heart - how kind, caring, and genuinely thoughtful she was toward everyone she met.
Diana was a cherished mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She is survived by her sons Gabriel Dye and his wife Pricila, and Gilbert Perez; her daughters Corina Morrison and her husband McKinley, and Veronica Perez. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Kaitlyn Jean Dye, McKenzie Diana Morrison, Maliki Perez, McKinley Morrison Jr., Myles Morrison, and Mayson Joe Morrison.
She is also survived by her devoted sisters: Ida Rey, Mary Ann Montez and her husband Leroy, Martha Garcia and her husband Carlos Sr., Anita Gonzalez, Delia Romero and her husband Cato, and Gaydonna Ornelas. Diana leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews throughout Texas who will deeply miss her presence, laughter, and care.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus T. Ramirez and Anita C. Ramirez; her late husband, Philip Smith Sr.; her siblings Jesse Ramirez, Rone Ramirez and Gerardo Gonzalez; her sisters Rosita Ramirez Kelly and Thelma Huichapa; her brothers-in-law Felipe Huichapa, Frank Rey, and Jimmy Ornelas; her nephew Chris Montez; and niece Sandy Rutledge.
Diana will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her devotion to family, and the quiet strength with which she carried herself through life. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Alamo Heights Baptist Church in Midland, Texas, with Robert Murphy officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to American Heritage Cemetery, Funeral Home, Crematory of Midland.
