Diana Eckert Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 11, 2024.
Diana Lou Eckert, born on October 19, 1951, to Richard and Dorothy King, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Diana lived a life full of love, compassion, and joy, touching the hearts of all who knew her.
On August 15, 1970, she married the love of her life, Steven Eckert, and together they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. Diana and Steven were blessed with two sons, Keith and Jeremy, whom she adored. Family was everything to Diana, and her love for them was as strong as her spirit.
Diana had a deep love for elephants and was known for her outgoing, friendly nature. She was always ready with a smile, offering care and support to anyone in need. Her home was a place of warmth and comfort, where she showcased her talent as an exceptional cook, creating meals that brought people together.
As the first daughter of her family, Diana carried a sense of responsibility and love for her siblings. She cherished doing crossword puzzles, and her intricate doilies were works of art that she took great pride in. She was also actively involved in the Ladies Auxiliary in Sheridan, where she contributed her time and energy to her community.
Diana is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Steven; her two sons, Keith Eckert and Jeremy (Alysia) Eckert; her daughter, Atlanta (Matthew) Woods; her two brothers, Darell (Nancy) King and Danny King; her sister, Deb Barnes; and seven beloved grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Dorothy King; her brother, DuWayne King; and her infant son, Steven.
A memorial service will take place at a late date.
