Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations - QuitmanDiana Marie Gill, age 65, of Mineola, Texas, passed away surrounded by her loving family on November 8, 2025.
Diana was born in Oak Park, Illinois, on May 13, 1960, to Terry Phillips and Leonard Groeneveld. She moved to Central Texas in the early 1980s, where she met the love of her life, Brion Gill. They married on December 14, 1982, in the living room of her parents’ home, beginning a life marked by devotion, teamwork, and a shared sense of adventure.
Diana had a variety of jobs, her favorite role was, Mom. She loved her family fiercely. Brion and Diana enjoyed coaching their children’s sports teams beginning with T-ball at a very early age. As they grew older, Brion became the coach, and Diana was the proud Team Mom often referred to as the “Bulldog with Lipstick”.
She loved watching the Food Network, and her family will forever brag about her legendary biscuits and gravy. Her son-in-law likes to claim a little credit for perfecting the recipe, and Diana let him have his victory. Christmas was her favorite season, and every year she created a spirited family cooking competition, assigning dishes and letting everyone vote. The only trouble came when someone didn’t vote for their spouse’s masterpiece.
Diana enjoyed traveling by motorcycle with Brion, riding through open roads and quiet stretches where they could simply be together. As the family grew, they added camping to their adventures, especially once it became clear that the whole crew couldn’t quite fit on the motorcycle. Those trips became a new kind of road for them, filled with campfire talks, shared meals, and memories.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Brion Gill, and her father, Leonard Groeneveld.
She is survived by her mother, Terry Phillips of Mineola; son Clinton Gill and wife, Hannah, of Dallas; daughter Brittany McMahon and husband, Adam, of Mineola; daughter Brandi Dominguez and husband, Gabriel, of Georgetown; brother Peter Groeneveld and wife, Debbie; brother Stephen Groeneveld and wife, Shelley; brother Michael Groeneveld and wife, Christine; and sister, Wendy Wiley. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Colton McMahon, Kendall Gill, Mahayla McMahon, Riley Dominguez, Weston McMahon, Maria Dominguez, and Tucker McMahon.
A memorial service will be held under the direction of Preacher Jerry Williams on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at the Mineola First Assembly Church in Mineola, Texas.
