Diana Katko Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gerity & Chubenko Funeral Home - Woodbridge on Jun. 23, 2025.
Diana Lee Katko, 74, of Woodbridge passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Anchor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hazlet.
Born in Manhattan, New York, Diana was a longtime resident of Woodbridge Township. Throughout her life she was a preschool teacher's aide, Catering Servicer, QC inspector with Ronson Corp. and World Carpet, and happiest as a homemaker, raising her children and enjoying her granddaughter and family. She will be remembered as a beautiful loving, caring, kind soul. Her personality was infectious with her quick wit and humorous banter. Her fierce strength was an inspiration to so many. Free spirited and fun loving, she always enjoyed traveling and going to the beach. She was a great cook and baker and was most notably favored for her "Sweet Potato Pies" and "potato salad" which along with many other dishes was enjoyed at family gatherings. Diana was a lover of music, especially Led Zepplin, enjoying concerts and her well established album collection. She also loved watching movies, especially with her children and granddaughter. She loved animals, writing poetry, creating recipes, and making people laugh. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who will be deeply missed by all.
Diana was predeceased by her husband in 2013, Joseph F. Katko; her son, Jeremy Katko in 2022; and her brother, Richard Hutchens. Surviving are her children, Christina Reitmeyer and husband Richard and Joseph R. Katko; granddaughter, Alyssa Olexa; siblings, Kathleen Di Tomasso with her husband Michael, Darlene Barbato, Deborah Basarab and Lynda Behrens; nephew and Godson, Mikie Di Tomasso along with many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 11am to 1pm at GERITY & CHUBENKO FUNERAL HOME, 411 Amboy Avenue, Woodbridge, NJ 07095. Cremation will be private.
