Ringling - Funeral Services for Diana Lynn Lester are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Thursday, May 23, 2024 at United Methodist Church in Ringling with Les Bussell officiating. Interment will follow to Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling.
Diana was born August 25, 1947, to William David Lester and Edith Wright Lester, in Blythe, CA. She departed from this life on Sunday, May 19, 2024 in Carrollton, TX.
She attended Ringling schools up to sixth grade and then her family moved to Plano, TX where she graduated from Plano High School, 1965. While in school she was a soda jerk at the Allen Drug Store near her home. After graduating she started working in the banking industry with many roles through her career as a bookkeeper, teller, loan officer and she worked in annuities prior to her retirement.
She loved football including Ringling High School, watching her grandson play at Princeton High, an avid OU fan, and the Pittsburgh Steelers where she enjoyed watching Terry Bradshaw. She was of the Baptist faith.
She's survived by her daughter, Vicki and husband, Robert Mills, Princeton, TX; Grandson Taylor and wife, SSG Kylin and Great-Grandson Teagan Wade Davis, Waverly, VA; siblings, Larry Lester, Grady, OK; David Lester, Chattanooga, TN, Jan Lohmann, Plano, TX; Carol Christian, Murphy, TX; Sarah Mounger, Checotah, OK, and Butch Smith and wife Chris, Waxahachie, TX; sisters-in-law, Jennifer Lester Puckett, Kennesaw, GA, Betty Smith, Ringling, OK; many cousins, nieces, nephews and her best friend of over 60 years, Kay and her husband Don Scalf, Allen, TX.
Preceding her in death were her parents, sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and George Folsom, her twin brother, Dwight Lester, brother, Bill Smith, brothers-in-law, Jack Christian and Jimmy Mounger; sisters-in-law, Emlee Lester, Jeanetta Lester; nephews, Paul Lester, Rodney and Brent Smith; and niece, Vicki Manuel.
Pallbearers are Taylor Davis, Robert Nation, Laine Lester, Brent Wade, Ricky Smith, and Tracy Smith.
Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 10am-12pm at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling.
