Diana Lynn Morrison, 70, of
Brunswick, GA died July 1, 2025, at her home after a short battle with cancer.
Diana was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey on January 28, 1955. She was preceded in death by her mother, Waldtraut "Wally" Pecha, born in Rotterdam, Holland, by her father, Richard Joseph Pecha, born in New York City, and by her sister, Christina Pecha Harrison.
Until 1965 Diana lived in Rutgers Village, NJ where she attended Woodrow Wilson Elementary School. In 1965 the family moved to Brussels, Belgium, where her father was employed by Esso (Exxon Mobil) and Diana attended the International School of Brussels. In 1967 the family moved to Birmingham, Michigan, where Diana attended Birmingham Seaholm Middle School until 1968 when the family moved back to New Brunswick, NJ.
In 1969 Diana moved with her family to St. Simons Island, where she graduated from Glynn Academy in 1973 and then graduated from the New York School of Dog Grooming in New York City in 1975. From 1975 until 1982 she was employed at Canine and Cattery Country Club in Brunswick.
In 1982 she established her own grooming business, Diana's Grooming Post, where she worked from her home until 2025.
Diana was extremely creative and talented. Her clients were gifted with cherished pictures of their dogs each holiday season. She had a loving, special relationship with each dog she groomed. Diana will also be remembered for her pictures of her beloved dogs, Kody and Reggie. Kody was featured in Workman's Publishers Page-a-Day Calendar two times and Reggie once. Diana was so proud of her boys, Kody and Reggie. Continuing a tradition from Reggie and others, Diana dressed Kody up for each holiday, and if you were fortunate enough to receive a holiday card from Diana, it became a treasured keepsake.
Diana had a generous and loving heart for all animals, as well as for people. She was known to rescue everything from seagulls to all four-legged creatures. Most recently her family has included her beloved felines Missy Kitty, Fannie, Rocky, William, Tux and Grayson. Among the community activities to which Diana loved to give her creative energies, each summer Diana and Steve, who so enjoyed the performances of The Island Players, contributed decorative lollipops to their workshop for young people.
Diana is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Steve. She is also survived by a brother, Richard J. Pecha, Jr. and his wife, Janet, a sister, Melissa Lawlor, a sister-in-law, Vicky Morrison, a brother-in-law, Damian Harrison, and her stepmother Frankie Pecha. She is also survived by her aunts, Bebe Browning, Jacquelyn Muller, and Ann Pecha, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A special thanks to Hospice of the Golden Isles for all their care.
