Linda Kay Sloan Hodges, age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2025.
Born on July 4, 1943, to Bryson Sloan and Ruth Pittman Sloan, Linda lived a life defined by love, family, and a commitment to serving others. She married the love of her life, Coy Hodges, on March 16, 1963, and together they shared 62 wonderful years filled with devotion, laughter, and enduring partnership.
Linda was a proud graduate of Georgia Southern University, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Education, and later completed her Master's degree in Education at Georgia State University. She dedicated her career to shaping young minds in the Griffin-Spalding County School System, where her passion for teaching and genuine care for her students left a lasting legacy. Linda later retired from the Griffin-Spalding County School System. Linda was also a dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church in Griffin, Georgia.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Coy Hodges, and their sons, Chris Hodges, Craig Hodges, and Cliff Hodges. She is also survived by her cherished daughters-in-law, Monica Hodges, Katie Hodges, and Sherrie Hodges, as well as her sister, Sue Latta.
Linda's love for her family was boundless, and she took immense pride in her grandchildren: Bryson Hodges (Melissa), Elizabeth Hodges-Miron (Jimmy), Cliff Hodges (Salina), Blake Hodges (Alexis), Anna Hodges-Swartzlander (Gunnar), and Landry Hodges. She also leaves behind one precious great-grandchild, Sloane Hodges, who brought her great joy.
Linda will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her steadfast faith, and her deep love for family and education. Her warmth, kindness, and wisdom will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Morgan's Chapel Methodist Church, 3308 Shellman Bluff Road NE, Townsend, GA 31331.
