Diana Lynn Proffitt

April 27, 1965 – April 14, 2025

Diana Lynn (Jones) Proffitt, 59, of Bluefield, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025. Born on April 27, 1965, in Bluefield, WV, Diana was the beloved daughter of Madeline McClanahan and Howard Jones, and stepdaughter of the late Coy McClanahan.

Diana was preceded in death by her loving husband and soulmate, Bobby Proffitt, and was welcomed into Heaven by his side.

She is survived by her children: sons John Proffitt (Crystal) of Iowa and Eddie Wood of Princeton, WV; daughters Rose King (Mike) of Bluefield, WV, Heather Wood of Bluefield, WV, Jessica Proffitt (Matthew) of South Carolina, and Crystal Graham (Lacey) of Princeton, WV.

Her love lives on through her grandchildren: Tiffany, Dakota, Samantha, Wyatt, Chasity, Jaylynn, Haleigh, Mason, Emmalee, Destiny, and Angel, as well as her great-grandson, Killian.

Diana also leaves behind her siblings: brothers Robert Jones, Coy McClanahan, and John McClanahan; and sisters Shirley Hodge and Patricia Jones.

Diana was a devoted member of Sandlick Baptist Church for over 20 years and, for the last five years, attended Edgemont Baptist Church in Bluefield. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she found great joy in her church family. Above all else, Diana loved her grandchildren fiercely and unconditionally. They were her heart, her world, and her greatest joy.

Diana touched the lives of many with her kindness, laughter, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A memorial service to honor Diana’s life will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 2–4 PM at Edgemont Baptist Church in Bluefield, WV, with Dr. Chris Roberts officiating. Following the service, Diana and Bobby’s ashes will be placed together at the Shrader/Proffitt Family Cemetery in Bluewell, WV, as they are reunited once more in eternal rest.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the funeral home to assist with final expenses.
