Diana Rae Shablack Sandy, 73, of Clarksburg passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025 in the United Hospital Center. She was born in Clarksburg on November 6, 1951, a daughter of the late John and Argia Oliverio Mutafis Shablack.

Diana worked as a bookkeeper at Larry's shoe store in Jacksonville, Florida, and she ran her own cleaning business named One Clean Sweep also in Florida. She returned to West Virginia in 2014 leaving several special friends although they remained in contact until the end.

Diana was recently baptized at the Center Branch Church in Bridgeport, West Virginia, where she made many new friends and attended a Bible study group.

Diana enjoyed watching the news and did not hesitate to share her opinion and her political views. Actually, she did not hesitate to share her views on any subject.

Diana was a member at the Bridge Sports Complex where she liked the pool for exercise and physical therapy. Diana loved her soap operas especially The Bold and Beautiful and General Hospital.

Diana had a talent for making homemade crafts such as wreaths, photo albums, blankets and gifts for family and friends. During Covid, she made unique homemade masks with her spin on them. She was the editor of the Washington Irving High School Alumni Newsletter.

Diana was most famously known for being the family historian for our Oliverio family. She would record births, marriages, anniversaries and deaths often using her personal touch by adding pictures, poems, and current events. She cleverly named each generation after an Italian pastry or Italian food. By researching family ancestry, she discovered previously unknown relatives. Diana was an aunt, great aunt, great great aunt to many nieces, nephews and had many cousins.

Diana is survived by her nieces Kimberly Wood (Rowland), Tammy Diaz (Raymond Tackett), and Argie Mutafis; and nephews Theodore "Ted" Lopez (Crystal),Tommy Fleming (Karen), Timmy Fleming (Kelly), Nick Mutafis, Mike Mutafis and Steve Mutafis (Sharon).

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Harry "Junior" Mutafis; and two sisters, Anita Lopez and Charlotte Fleming.

We would like to thank one special cousin for all her help, assistance, love and care during Diana's illness. Diana was Donald Trump's biggest supporter and wanted everyone to know it and was not afraid to Make America Great Again.

In keeping with her wishes, Diana will be cremated.
