Diana Kay Schaefer

Diana Kay Schaefer, 77, of LaGrange, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on October 8, 2025. Born May 30, 1948, in Canton, Ohio, Diana was the daughter of the late Nelson and Edith (Warrick) Tyson.

Diana's life was rich with the things she loved most: camping on weekends and visiting thrift stores with her daughter, Terry; sewing beautiful quilts; and sharing her sharp sense of humor with everyone around her. Known affectionately as "Tinker" by her cousins, she took care of them and kept them in line after their mother passed away. Diana also enjoyed working as a cook at McDonald's, where her husband, Joseph, would often stop in to visit and for a free cup of coffee. She approached every task with care and dedication, always finding joy in the simple moments of daily life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Schaefer, in 2011. Diana is survived by her loving daughter, Terry Schaefer and her daughter-in-law, Ronnie Hewlett, who was also Diana's caregiver. She will be deeply missed by her cousins, Barb Adkins and James (Peggy) Vermillion. Diana also leaves behind her cherished furry grandchildren-Riley, Noodle, and Peanut (aka "Lips"), who brought her endless joy and laughter.

The family will welcome guests for a brief visitation at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick, Ohio. She will laid to rest with her husband, Joseph, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.
