Kenneth G. Schanda, age 90, passed away on October 5, 2025. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on April 17, 1935, Ken lived a life marked by hard work, deep integrity, and quiet generosity.

A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Ken served his country with honor, and he was committed to service, community, and charity throughout his life. After his military service, he built a long and respected career as an electrician. He was also a proud 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Shriners Hospital. Additionally, he owned a number of businesses, including Regal Auto Parts and Shannon's Downstairs Lounge, and was part owner in John D. Auto Parts and Strongsville Auto Parts.

Known for his honorable and humble nature, Ken never sought recognition but was generous in both big and small ways. He was a great father, a man of his word, and a loyal friend. He loved his rescue dogs, was deeply compassionate, and lived with strong patriotic pride-he would go out of his way whenever he could to "buy American."

Ken enjoyed traveling, including memorable trips to Alaska, Florida, Graceland, and Gettysburg. His giving spirit and love for others touched many lives, and his legacy will live on through the kindness he inspired.

Ken was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Mildred (Curva), in 2021, as well as his sister, Phyllis. He is survived by his children, Robert (Diana), Darryl, and Victoria (Michael); his cherished grandchildren, Matt, Alex, Rachel, Robin, Kenny, and Timmy; and great-grandchildren, Alessandra and Wyatt.

The family will welcome guests from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick, Ohio. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 11:00 am on Friday, October 10, 2025. Ken will be laid to rest with the love of his life, Mildred, at Hope Memorial Gardens in Hinckley, Ohio.
