Diana F. Uttech, age 86, of Merrill, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025, at the Aspirus Hospital in Stevens Point, WI. Diana was born on April 26, 1939 to the late Robert H. and Lydia (Bonke) Koehler, and has been a lifelong Merrill resident. Diana attended and graduated from Merrill High School. She married James A. Diana worked as a loss control secretary and receptionist for Church Mutual Insurance Company in Merrill for almost 36 years. She enjoyed taking polka trips with her siblings. She also enjoyed tending to her garden, reading a good book, or watching the birds. Family was the center of her life, and Diana cherished her time with them. She was also a great cook, liked to bake and was always there to lend a helpful hand. Diana was a member at St. John Lutheran Church. She sang in the church choir and was on the finance board. She was a kind spirit and will be missed dearly.
Diana is survived by her children: Steven Uttech, Russell (Sheryl) Uttech and Cheryl (Thomas) Barkley, all of Merrill, her grandchildren: Alissa and Austin Uttech and Stephanie (Tim) Aldrich, her great granddaughter: Noelle Aldrich, sister-in-law: Darlene Rethaber, brother-in-law: Len Polak, and many nieces, nephews and good friends. Diana was preceded in death by her parents, husband: James Uttech and siblings: Lois (Glenn) Brosowky, Glenn (Florian) Koehler and Donna (Karl) Grell.
The funeral service for Diana will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Merrill. Pastor Joel Danner will officiate. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue until the service, also at the church. Burial will take place at Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery.
