Diane Corniello

DIANE CORNIELLO "Nanny", age 77, of Medina, passed away peacefully March 17, 2025. Diane was born March 26, 1947 in Cleveland to the late Frank and Rita Corniello. She was the oldest of five and a resident of Seven Hills, OH for 45 years, before moving to Society for Handicapped Citizens Group Home in Seville in 2007, and then to Medina Meadows Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in 2018.
She is survived, and will be dearly missed, by her loving siblings: Kathy (Bob) Bulka, of Medina; Don (Cyndi) Corniello, of Brunswick; Sue (Thom) Boyne, of Kentucky; Ken (Lynn) Corniello, of Texas; nine nieces and nephews and 10 great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and cousin, Ross.
Frank and Rita were exceptional parents and caregivers for Diane for 60 years of their married life. In 2007 Frank and Rita moved to Medina to be closer to family and Diane moved to the Wanko House group home. In 2018 she moved to Medina Meadows, her final home, where she was reunited with her mom; her dad had passed a month earlier.
Diane was very social and her laugh was contagious. She loved everyone and was loved by all. Music was something she especially enjoyed. Polkas were her favorite and she was known as the "Polka Queen." Diane went many places with her family and especially enjoyed riding in the car. In Seven Hills she attended a day workshop and when she moved to the group home, she attended the Medina Co. Achievement Center and "The Link" day program in addition to many Cuyahoga and Medina County events.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation & gratitude to the staff at Medina Meadows who were like family to her and also Hospice of Medina County/Western Reserve for their compassionate and exceptional care.
Calling hours will be held Monday, March 24, 2025 from 4-7 p.m. at Waite and Sons Funeral Homes Medina Chapel, 765 N. Court St., Medina, OH 44256. Services will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 606 East Washington Street, Medina, Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 14609 Brookpark Road, Brook Park, OH 44142.
