Diane Sharrett deShazo, 62, of Hickman, Neb., passed away at her home on February 2, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and warmth.
Born September 30, 1963, in Fort Sill, Okla., Diane lived with an open heart and an adventurous spirit. She was known for her sharp wit, contagious laughter, and boundless affection for animals-especially dogs, cats, and horses. Diane delighted in gardening, classic television, crocheting, fishing, travel, and the beauty of nature, and she embraced life's chapters with curiosity and joy. In recent years, one of her greatest joys was stepping into the role of bonus grandmother (Grammy), a role she cherished deeply.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Brigitte Lucie Maybom. Diane is survived by her father, Thomas Edward deShazo; her daughter, Virginia Coffman (Lane) and spouse Koby Coffman, of Omaha; bonus grandchildren McKynli Kesler, Gavin Coffman, and Severan Coffman; sisters, Anne and Kathleen Gadeken (deShazo) and spouse Larry Gadeken; along with many beloved family members and friends across the country.
Diane will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, generous heart, and the joy she brought into every space she entered.
Memorials may be made to the Nebraska Humane Society in Diane's honor.
A Celebration of Life Reception will be held in Diane's honor on April 5, 2026, from 12 to 2 p.m. at The Urban Farmhouse in Lincoln, Neb. Condolences: www.bmlfh.com.
Mom, you are missed beyond measure. Thank you for the memories I will cherish for a lifetime. Your love and spirit live on forever. Until we meet again.
