Diane Kay Hermann

Diane (Young) Hermann, age 79, of Davison, Michigan, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Diane was born on December 12, 1946, in Lapeer, Michigan, the daughter of Harold Young and Elaine (Herman) Young. She graduated from Lakeview High School and went on to dedicate 26 years of her life as a hospice CNA - a calling she truly cherished and to which she gave her whole heart.

In 1985, Diane married John Carl Hermann. They shared a marriage filled with joy, laughter, and many cherished moments spoiling their grandchildren until John's passing in 2002.

Diane especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all her heart. She proudly shared their accomplishments with anyone who would listen and treasured every moment spent with them.

A devout Christian, Diane never missed a day of prayer. She faithfully prayed for the safety, happiness, and salvation of those she loved - and even for those she had never met.

Diane was a lover of nature and captured its beauty through her photography. She carefully documented her grandchildren's adventures and special moments. She loved all animals (except bats), and held a special place in her heart for Doc (her African Grey) and Gator (her Alligator snapper), along with her many beloved "grand-pets." Diane was selfless, always putting others first and never wanting anyone to inconvenience themselves for her.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Michelle (Hopkins) Robideau; Dustin Hopkins (Julie); John Hermann (Colleen); and Michael Hermann (Stephanie); and beloved former daughter-in-law, Jennifer McClennan (Robert).

Her grandchildren: Joseph Robideau (Michelle); Kelli Puig (Timothy); Veronica Patterson (Kyle); Luke Hopkins; Ariel, Jacob, and Tyler Hermann; Beatrice, Michael, and Mary Hermann; along with countless great-grandchildren, all of whom she deeply cherished.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Carl Hermann; her parents, Harold and Elaine Young; and her brothers, Robert, Glen, Larry, and Sam Young.

Visitation will be held on February 21, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Vision Pointe Assembly of God, 9444 E. Dodge Road, Otisville, MI 48463, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, Diane requested that donations be made in her memory to the Tim Tebow Foundation or Operation Smile - charities that were especially close to her heart.
