Diane Holman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home on Dec. 8, 2025.
W. STEWARTSTOWN – Diane C. Holman, 81, of Colebrook, passed away at the Coös County Nursing Hospital in W. Stewartstown early on Friday morning, Dec. 5, 2025, after a period of declining health.

She was born in Brockton, Massachusetts, on August 31, 1944, to the late Richard and Dorothy (Dahlborg) Kendrew. She was raised in Duxbury, MA, and was a 1962 graduate of Duxbury High School. She then attended Framingham State College and earned her degree in Education. In 1969, she married her best friend, Orrin ("Bill") Holman.

Diane spent most of her career as a Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher. She worked in many different schools throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire. In 1992, she and her family relocated to the North Country, and she taught at Pittsburg School. She then went on to teach at Stratford Public School and retired from there in 2009.

Diane was a talented crafter and often created counted cross stitch and knitted gifts for loved ones. She was a wonderful cook for her family. She enjoyed time with friends playing in the local bridge club and was a member of the Red Hat Society. After retirement, she and Bill enjoyed square dancing with friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bill Holman of Colebrook; two daughters, Sarah (Glenn) Gould and Erin Monahan, of all Barrington, N.H.; two brothers, Donald Kendrew of Marshfield, MA., and Richard (Ingrid) Kendrew of Cotuit, MA., a sister, Nancy (Mark) Donoghue of Greenfield, MA.; and her four grandchildren, Conor, Ethan, Garrett and Emily.

She is predeceased by her brother, David Kendrew, as a child.

The family would like to acknowledge the Coös County Nursing Hospital and their entire staff for the great love and care Diane received while there.

At Diane's specific request, there are no public services at this time.
