It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diane How on September 24, 2024 at the age of 91.
Born in Evanston, Illinois, Diane spent most of her life in the Chicago area, with a 6-year stint in northern Kentucky, before retiring to Tellico Village in 1995. She and husband Bud loved Tellico Village, where they had many cherished friends and were long-time members of the Tellico Village Community Church. Diane spent her final years at The Neighborhood assisted living community in Tellico Village, where she found much love and comfort among the caring staff and other residents.
Diane was known for her caring and generous spirit, touching the lives of family, friends, and even strangers Throughout her life she embraced her roles as wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker while exploring several vocations including travel agent, beauty care sales, interior decorator, and real estate agent She volunteered as a reading tutor to elementary school kids both at Loudon County schools, and near their home in Chicago She was an avid and accomplished bridge player, and participated in several bridge groups within the village Her warmth and kindness will be deeply missed, but always remembered, by all who knew her.
Diane is survived by husband Julian (Bud), son John (Kim) How, son Peter (Karen) How, daughter Julie (Greg) Blank, 6 adoring grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at The Community Church at Tellico Village located at 130 Chota Center, Loudon, TN 37774.
Condolences may be sent to Bud How, 100 Chatuga Drive W., Apt 402, Loudon, TN 37774.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted by The Good Samaritan Center of Loudon County Tennessee where Diane volunteered her time.
