Diane TeRonde Kitelinger

Diane TeRonde Kitelinger, 76, of Oostburg, passed away at her home on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.

Diane was born on January 3, 1948, in Sheboygan, the daughter of Harold and Lenore (Wykhuis) TeRonde. She graduated from Oostburg High School in 1966, and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in English at UW Milwaukee, where she graduated with honors.  Diane was a teacher for 2 years in upstate New York, and then moved back to Milwaukee to work in the printing industry for over 30 years, retiring as a printing production manager.

  

Diane enjoyed traveling, sailing, and making firewood; she also loved horseback riding, both competitively and for fun. In her younger years, she enjoyed selling Christmas trees on the family tree farm and later turned it into a productive woodlot. In 1976, she and her father built a log cabin that she lived in for the last 23 years of her life.  She was an avid reader, and she enjoyed singing with family and friends.  She joined the Concordia Singing Society of Sheboygan in 2010; she sang alto and tenor with the group until late 2023, also serving terms as secretary, co-president, and trustee.  Diane was a loving mom, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend, who will be dearly missed.

Diane is survived by her daughter Leslie (Kevin) Gannon and their children Connor, Michael and William; also by her son Jeff (Tara) Kitelinger. She is further survived by her sister Christine Burr, brother Tom (Chris) TeRonde, her significant friend Doug Hamilton, and her niece and nephews.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Barbara and Julee TeRonde.

  

A celebration of Diane’s life will be held at Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Sunday, May 5, 2024, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated in Diane’s name to the Oostburg Public Library or the Concordia Singing Society.
