Russ C. Schefelker

Russell C. Schefelker, age 74, passed to heavenly glory on November 5, 2025 at Primrose in Appleton. He was born on February 27, 1951 to Everett and Rita (Jensen) Schefelker at New London Community Hospital. He grew up in the township of Little Wolf on the homestead farm of his great-grandfather (Herman).

Russ started his education in a one-room school in Green Valley like his father (Everett) and grandfather (Frank) before him. Russ attended St. Paul Lutheran Church and School where he was baptized and confirmed. He graduated salutatorian from Little Wolf High School in 1969, and completed his post-secondary education at UWM.

Russ had the ability to communicate and shared it with humor and quick wit. Russ played the piano, accordion, and tuba. He was part of the championship high school debate team, participated in high school plays, and played the piano for high school musicals and family gatherings. He was a favorite of his nieces and nephews. He lived and worked in Milwaukee his entire life. Russ traveled to Europe and the Middle East with his favorite trip being to the Holy Land.

He is survived by his mother, Rita Schefelker; sister, Judy (Don) Daley; brothers: Perry (Diane) Schefelker and Jeffrey (Joanne) Schefelker; nieces, nephews and many relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Everett, and nephew, Andrew Schefelker.

The funeral for Russell will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa, WI, with Pastor Nathan Reichle officiating. Visitation will take place at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Town of Little Wolf Cemetery.
